Exclusive ACTRA Casting Notices: Feature Films Shooting in Canada
Premium subscribers get first access—submit before these roles fill up!
For My Canadian Premium Subscribers—This One’s for You!
FYI for My U.S.-Based Premium Subscribers: Some of these projects shoot in the U.S., so don’t hesitate to submit or ask your representatives to do so on your behalf. There’s likely a U.S.-based casting director attached to these productions. However, for this particular list, we don’t have the U.S. casting details—only the Canadian casting notices.
One of the biggest advantages of being part of Cast Forward is getting first access to industry opportunities. As soon as we receive casting notices, we post them immediately so you can submit before the roles fill up.
Today, we’ve got new ACTRA feature film casting notices shooting in Canada. If you’re eligible and available, don’t wait—casting directors move fast, and getting your submission in early can make all the difference.
Some roles may have already been filled, while others may not even be listed on official breakdowns yet. This gives you the advantage of reaching out early. However, don’t get discouraged—casting often continues even after a film has begun shooting, especially for smaller parts.
If you’re unable to reach casting directly via the provided email or don’t receive a response due to high volume, ask your agent to submit you through casting websites and check breakdowns for potential roles. With the project name and casting details below, your representative can locate it more easily and determine the best approach. If the listing isn’t on casting sites yet, they have direct contacts with casting directors and know how to reach them.
If you’re represented, let them pitch you—this is something my representative always does, whether the breakdown is up or not.
We always strive to find direct contacts, but when that’s not possible, we look for mailing addresses and official social media accounts to ensure you have every opportunity to connect with casting. Engaging with them on social media is a great way to build a relationship over time. I do it all the time.
Pay Attention: Some casting directors are working on multiple projects, so be sure to research their current work and tailor your email accordingly.
When reaching out to casting, NEVER attach your headshot and reel. Instead, do this:
“Here’s a quick look at my recent work: [Insert link—never attachments]”
Keep your email short and to the point. If you’re unsure how to write it, check out Section 4: Craft Emails That Command Attention and Want to Master the Art of Cold Emails? Here’s the Ultimate Guide for Actors.
⚠️ A quick reminder: Please don’t spam casting directors with emails. If you can’t get in touch, let your representation handle it.
In the Notes section, you’ll find details on when each project is set to start shooting.
We include all the details we receive—whether it’s loglines, project notes, contact email or any other helpful info—to give you the best shot at getting Cast Forward!
