5. Casting Notices Policy & Legal Compliance (U.S., Canadian & International)

At Cast Forward, we are committed to helping actors build empowered, sustainable careers through access to expert insights, strategic tools, and curated industry information.

As part of our premium membership, we include hand-picked casting notices for film, TV, and commercial projects—many of which are union (SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA, and international) productions. These may include U.S., Canadian, and European-based projects depending on current market activity and professional circulation.

Important Clarifications About Our Casting Content:

  • We are not a casting platform.

Cast Forward does not represent any casting directors, producers, or employers. We do not facilitate submissions or operate as a casting service. We do not host casting breakdowns as a platform. However, when casting professionals choose to share them directly with us—and grant permission—we’re proud to pass those trusted opportunities along to our members.

  • We do not charge actors to apply for work.

Casting notices are just one part of a broader subscription that delivers expert-level insights, research-backed tools, and personalized career support. This includes the time-intensive research, tracking, and formatting we invest in to deliver up-to-date casting intelligence. All jobs shared are publicly listed, soon-to-be public, or circulating within the professional community.

  • Union actors always have a no-cost path to apply.

In accordance with California Labor Code §450, any union job listed in our roundup can be submitted to at no cost—either through your agent, manager, standard casting platforms, or directly to the provided contact. We encourage actors to apply professionally where appropriate, and to work with their representatives when direct contact is not possible or ideal.

  • Our goal is to help you be proactive—not pay-to-play.

Our casting roundups are designed to help you identify early opportunities, reach out professionally, and strategically partner with your reps—not to replace standard application channels.

  • We’re a strategy and coaching platform first.

Casting news is just one part of what we offer. Our members also gain access to exclusive articles, tools, frameworks, email scripts, industry breakdowns, and performance insights designed to move your career forward.

If you are a union actor and believe a submission path is being restricted or monetized unfairly, we encourage you to contact your representation or reach out directly to SAG-AFTRA’s Commercials Department for support.

Why Casting Notices Are Part of a Paid Membership

Cast Forward is not a casting platform. We do not charge actors to submit to roles—submission is always free via official union-compliant channels such as agents, managers, or publicly available breakdowns.

What you’re paying for is the strategy, research, and formatting behind the scenes. These listings are curated as part of a larger career strategy system—not just a list of open calls. Each notice is paired with guidance to help you submit professionally and strategically—something a standard breakdown won’t offer. Sometimes casting and role information is available in trusted databases, but contact details must be sourced separately. When possible, we track down those missing pieces to provide a complete and professional submission path. We also invest in professional industry resources, research platforms, and trusted networks to compile curated casting opportunities—some of which are already circulating publicly, while others are expected to be listed soon through standard industry platforms.

The contact details we share are often available elsewhere—but not only in one place, not with this level of clarity, and not presented through a strategic career lens. You’re not paying to apply. You’re paying to save time, act earlier, and gain smarter context in how to move forward.

Cast Forward exists to empower actors, not to gatekeep opportunities. That’s why curated casting intel is just one part of a broader membership that includes premium coaching, audition strategy, visibility tools, and more.

If casting directors share breakdowns with us directly and grant permission, we may include them in our members-only content with full attribution. These are never altered and always shared in line with their original intent.

We are not responsible for outdated email addresses, bounced messages, or changes made to breakdowns after publishing. While we verify listings at the time of publication, the industry moves quickly—and actors are encouraged to follow up through their reps or known channels if contact information becomes unavailable.
